May I have but a moment, A second of your time, To tell you, I hate love poems, Even so, This would be mine. For I’ve seem to found somebody, Who understands my speech, Who finds me neither dull, nor boring, Lord, listen to me preach! I’m going on just like a schoolgirl! For this love has renewed, Spirit, mind, body, Intellectual food For my weary soul. If yesterday, one would have said I would take a man, to heart and bed, And sing about it In this time. I would say, I do hate love poems, And forgive me, This one is mine. |
