“All Things Forgotten”

I cannot remember that late, early April night when the snow was slowly falling down outside and I felt your beautiful kisses on my lips for the first time
Your soothing scent no longer lingers in my senses following me wherever I go
I cannot hear your voice echoing in my mind and the memory of your handsome face is now a blur
I thought your eyes of crystal blue would be etched in my mind forever, but I can no longer see them
All of those words of love I had for you that danced around in my head for so many years have now faded into time
The ache I felt inside my soul needing and wanting you to feel more than friendship for me has long passed as well
I swore I would love you for my lifetime but it seems as though I lied to you and proved that I was no different than any other
I speak these words of truth to you and you’ll find that all things of you are forgotten…
Somewhere in between my waking hours and my dreams, or maybe in a little sliver of space where the nighttime meets the new day breaking
