Where the Deer Slept The leaves were sort of oval formed, depressed, concaved . . . still warm. Not enough time had passed for the heat to cool, to cold. I sat where the deer had slept, lay on my side curled in a somewhat ball, lending my warmth to the warmth already there. Together, where the deer had slept and I, would cool, and maybe, just maybe – we’d cold there too. ©w. james beard, jr. January 2006 |

Beautiful images here; especially the one of the leaves at the beginning. They aren't flaps; they're my face! |

Ah, James... I've seen these curls in the long grass... and the heat that bent the stems.... This is beautiful. Thank you! |

Communing with nature ~ How very, very special. Thank you for this, Jim. I could feel a calm come over me as I took your words in. Sending you a very warm smile & hug, Linda |
