Standing On A Broken Bridge by Alexander I stand here atop of this bridge that I built, In rejection I stand here alone. I look with confusion to find strings of guilt, Such sadness, If only I'd known. A structure built long over time and with trust, Is falling apart at my feet. A direction to choose is something I must, Before finally facing defeat. Which way do I move on this crumbling frame, The answer, if only I knew. Each way I see waiting the lure of dry land, As my choices are narrowed to two. I can choose to move forward towards you again, As this walkway does fail me below. I can turn, walk backwards and swallow my pain, Hiding tears in my eyes as I go. I'm not even sure how I ended up here, Or why I am taking the blame. This loss of a friendship I valued so dear, Will hurt but will bring me no shame. So now as I look up towards where you are, I ask you to point me the way, For this bridge where I stand is begining to fall, And I've run out of words I can say.... |

Such a poignant poem for my first read today. Very inspiring as the answer will come when you seek it from the "One" you ask, where you are standing. Lovely work. |
