Your little lies
and lousy alibis
can't cover up the guilt
that's in your eyes.
Even a blind man
could plainly see...
You're kickin' up your heels
and steppin' out on me.

I've gotta hear
what you have to say
here in the dawn's early light.
You think that I was born yesterday;
but girl, I've been up all night.
You've been slippin' 'round alot.
Old friends tell me so.
What's he got
that I ain't got?

Never mind
I don't wanna know.

Last week,
in an act of charity
You finally quit saying "No"
But your whispers and moans
are buggin' me, girl...
Who the hell is Joe?
Now, you come stragglin'
home at six a.m.
Your clothes all held together
with safety pins.

I've gotta hear
what you have to say
here in the dawn's early light.
