My Daughters

My daughters have large wings to me
That I must catch to kiss you see
They fly a world of mental prime
Horizons of beyond my time

They are to me new butterflies
That fly new fields of green where lies
Their future and their fantasies
Their very own eternities

It gives me pause to see them go
When curtains close upon my show
My paint brush and my words of choice
I leave them with my poems of voice

Of all the works I did mandate
You are the best of my create
And memories stay my heart piled high
Some of which off make me cry

You are the flowers of my season
I love you both beyond all reason

Morning Sy!
What a beautiful tribute to your daughters.
This is ever so lovely!
~Morning Hugs & Smiles, Nancy~

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

It is wonderful when daughters
are truly their daddy's girl.

Keeping this one close, Sy.

You helped them grow the wings to fly ~ and your love shines in this poem. It lit up my screen and filled my heart.

This means so much more to me now, than if I had read it back years ago when I used to visit this site.

My wife and I recently had our own Daughter, and see brings a whole new perspective to my life.

I never had a dad around to love me the way your love your daughters.  But I have two daughters (and a husband who has no use for poetry) and this is absolute keepsake treasure!  We might fade away and words from paper, but this is forever.

Yanno "Psai"....I truly love my son, he's without a doubt my best friend....but there's something special about a daughter isn't there....very nice tribute for all fathers to all daughters....

Good morning, Mr. T.!

IWIHWT ~ I wish I had written that! Like you, I have two daughters and I feel the very same way about them. You expressed what is in my heart for them. Thank you! I shall have them read what you have written for your own. ~ and say that's ditto from me to them!

It appears that they are as fortunate to have you as you are to have them! God bless you all!

Loving Light,
Linda

Truly beautiful and heartfelt. Your daughters are obviously as lucky to have you as you are to have them.
