The normally placid and willing to bend
stands stubborn and straight in a ramrod pose
listening, listening, to the sense of a dream
speaking below the level of known.

No sound emanates from unearthly speech
yet the no hum, no moan, no gurgle or groan,
displaces the hold of realistic notions
and loosens the ties of current abodes.

Up-up and I’m flying the sky of a wish
beautifully there in the middle of feel
and who doesn’t duck the hands of a lie
when caught in the sense of a dream?

Down-down to a vacant and empty stare
and the turn, turn, right turn-away,
into the tautness of opposition
to the demands of an early grave.

But the grave simply laughs in the face of a dream
that doesn’t make sense to even a “me”!

Oh, the who we become
in light of fantasy's dream...

a good, thoughtful write, Helen...

Oh, yes, and I like that one I become because, you see, it's the real me.     Thanks for the read, Sunshine.

Martie - Yes, indeed we are more.

Thanks, Jo, for the welcome back and, yes, I guess I will carry on dreaming for a little longer.

James - thank you for reading and for commenting.

Eric - Your kind comment in so very much appreciated.  Thank you!

Oh, this is lovely Helen!

"and who doesn’t duck the hands of a lie
when caught in the sense of a dream?"

just perfect...
