tempter shape shifter he twirls her round the dance floor feverish blossom in white dress close now his eyes grab bayou water send its reflection to her as she’s never seen it before sorghum thick driving beat his thighs pump la-la her shoulders swing white to the fiddle and frottoir lights string the dance floor encircling a study of heat something takes leave of her he slips juju in her palm ah bebe he whispers leaves her lying in the bramble bush heart pounding to the beat of the faded jingle white dress faded |
