bruised eyes look out at skeletal branches scarring the sky as they beckon with promises of untold freedom instead she is held captive by strident words which beat relentlessly until her spirit freezes, cracking under the brutality of an iron will cascades of emotional blows raining down, drowning trust, destroying innocence, demanding payment for goods never received, only promised by glossy images advertising a truth imprisoned in nocturnal dreams icicles of fear fall about a body bent to false submission directed by a mind that refuses to believe or relent while a white flag is a decoy when she stands knife in hand, inviting him to dance. aziza [This message has been edited by aziza (07-26-2006 11:42 PM).] |

I don't believe anyone could have described this better, although very dark, I must admit, the feelings of this are very dark as well... interestingly good poem |

This is fantastic. It really hits me between the eyes (no pun intended). My eyes are always severely messed up so I know what you mean to the very last word. Cheers - Ed I'm not smart, I'm just a tricky dumb person. |

this poem was particularly striking. i could picture looking out a window either late at night or on a cold gray day. aziza, you have a very nice way with words --anne |
