Far from where I am going

I have never fallen in love with you
oh, no
Fallen permits clumsiness, unexpectedness
no
I have willingly hurled myself into love with you
walking smoothly into the oncoming love storm
waiting in quiet frustration under the leaning oak
among this raging rose petal blizzard
for you and only you.
