On a winter's morn, on a stormy day, In a Sieve they went to sea! ~Edward Lear on the swelter of a summer’s afternoon they took to the sea with no eye map knees fell open to water trailing toes thin breezes wrapped their shoulders 60 years of white moons charted their course dream touching fingers held wet to the wind for direction they sailed in a fancy of yearn a soupçon of real nights they slept blanket still woke to holy mornings purple plums dark raisins sweet succulent treats held to greedy mouths they were never seen again tacked to an afternoon dream and words of soothing hush things are not always as they seem sometimes a sieve will float |

Ok. I give up. This...is poetry. All should yield... Truth, I say you, are a poet Laureate. I have no critique. This simply bowled me over. And while I still feel I am a wanna-be? I know my diamonds from coal. Lady, you are a diamond. |

smiling..."sometimes there's duct tape!" Wonderful feel to this Kate. Sobering, yet peacefully written. Much as the tide you bring to the page. TD |

Sunshine is right. Everybody should basically snap their pens in half, because they won't match up to this. Super - Ed I'm not smart, I'm just a tricky dumb person. |
