Black and White...
This canvas masquerades,
Leaving an echo of a shadow
In an otherwise empty space…
This utter silence is masked with coming rain,
Turning this world into melting ink,
A catastrophe of shades,
An irony of colorless hues that throw
These hopes in my face,
This wind that causes me to shrink…
Within myself, its utter dullness
Distracts my gaze and draws away
My sole attention to its text.
To this loneliness.

And yet… remain, despite
The battling seasons of defeat,
Through this newfound knowledge…
Just waiting to be seen,
A muse unto itself and a pool of endless thought.

No amount of words can heal,
A wound this deep is meant to sting,
And yet these sentences hold meaning,
Truth that must be sought and known.
Underneath this face so painted
Are the hidden answers, surely,
And though the downpour may persist,
And though the feeling never leaves,
These metaphors may be a crutch,
This irony may clarify itself,
And whenever that is,
These books will lead one well.

WELCOME TO PASSIONS LAURA!
What a wonderful write.
I look forward to reading much more of your work.
~Smiles & Hugs, Nancy~

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.
