Bird of Paradise, Made in China The humidity cooked the air-born rice strewed across the sky. Chinese snowflakes of softened starch fell upon the wedding guests. Like the biblical stories of the miraculous happening, the bride and the groom drifted haplessly out of the church with full-metal fingers on their way to honeymoon. Just give it a week, his Lincoln black top hat would turn into another woman’s underpants and his smiling face with champagne flute in hand would transform into a dixie cup chalice housing the Russian god, Vodka, and a lady in his lap screaming, calling him Roberto Estavez. Till death do his legs part for other ladies. The bride planted a Bird of Paradise on their front lawn. She thought the vows and loving would last longer than it did. She presumed that she acquired the lifestyle christened the American dream. But like everything else in America, her marriage was made in China. I'm not smart, I'm just a tricky dumb person. |

Pessimism is just fact-based knowledge without a sugar coating to make it sticky. thanks aziza I'm not smart, I'm just a tricky dumb person. |

I wonder how many times I have come back to read this. I am suffering from serious expression envy! |

Yes....one should never make assumptions....if you do, you're more likely to get the bird, than the paradise! ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

She thought the vows and loving would last longer than it did. How often that's the case. *sad smile* This is excellent! |

I love this poem -- so I need it up here. It's one of my favorites and yes .. I know I can add it to my library and will ... when I am done ... putting it up here. |

Wow, I'm surprised of the response this is getting. Thanks again Aziza, I'm glad you like it so much. Thanks Seraphin for the read. Uriah, unfortunately I am plagued with the once a month writer's block, lol. Thanks everybody. Cheers - Ed I'm not smart, I'm just a tricky dumb person. |

Just a "pop up" to give others a chance to experience this. I've read it once again, and I still love it. |

i liked it. the Russian god, vodka, made me laugh. But technically the expression is for women to part their legs. i'm not sure if the expression works for men. |
