Opportunities To Forgive Perhaps I should have gone to Louisville with my Dad, all those years ago. Maybe we could have come to an agreement, now its too late to know. As long as I live, I should take every opportunity to forgive. Perhaps I should have gone to Louisville with my Dad, all those years ago. It was a good opportunity to forgive. Now I know. I've found forgiveness to be a very powerful tool in healing relationships. Thank you for sharing. “We are all travelers in the wilderness of this world, and the best that we can find in our travels is an honest friend.” –Robert Louis Stevenson |

I was able to forgive my father before he passed. I'm sorry you didn't have the chance. |

Thank you rosepetals25, El Compedor and Tina for the nice responses... They say it is never to late to forgive...if we can't do it face to face we can ask God to assist us...James |

I think your poem invites us to take the first step to forgiving others as we learn from your regret. And that is the power of poetry. aziza |

well James, honestly I'm fine in my unforgiveness of my father and he could already be dead and I wouldn't know or care sometimes it just isn't gonna happen, no matter what |

James, all I can say is AMEN to this...well thought out...no to people ever think alike, there will always be differences of opinions, but, to understand that, well, forgiveness is to me, such a tears of joy greatness...healthy and spiritual... ![]() |

Thank you aziza, 1slick lady, missing shadows and LeeJ for the nice responses... I wouldn't forgive my dad over some disagreements we had, and I realized much later that one act of unforgiveness can lead to another and another; it can attach itself to your personality...my dad wanted me to go with him from Japan to Kentucky because his mom had passed away...when I declined, he took my younger brother...today I see the importance of forgiveness for peace of mind...James |
