5527 Manna of Canaan 15 July 2006 For could there be love the colour of white All these years to humble over yet the fear of losing all to find She was heaven, an angel born carried in faith, held in hope This place of flames and fire now was she another to pass over This bread, His body and water in wine of blood to pray and yet know, hunger was a pain within Suffering His bleeding, ripped from limb those scars to heal over in kind But what would become of the moon those nights never again sleeping alone Her heartbeat a feeling to wane to understand death, before death was dead “And he said unto them: He that eateth this bread eateth of my body to his soul; and he that drinketh of this wine drinketh of my blood to his soul; and his soul shall never hunger nor thirst, but shall be filled.” 3 Nephi 20: 8 BOOK OF MORMON © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
