In Fond Memory of a Poet |

In Fond Memory of a Poet Just as every one before him, He walked through this life alone; Leaving footprints we can follow As we struggle on our own. He, a man of many talents, Rationed what he let us see. Wit and wisdom he exuded In his unique poetry. We, familiar with the poet, Perhaps didn't know the man; Finding him where poets travel With the great and also ran. Some shook his hand and judged him As he played another role; But perhaps we knew him better. A true poet bares his soul. We will find him in God's future But we know that until then We shall miss the gentle humor From his over-flowing pen. By: Joyce 7/10/06Dedicated to Eugene Bovee |

Yes it is Marge. He contributed to quite a few magazines that I do and I didn't know until he died how many other talents he had. Love, Joyce |

Liked the poem you have written here. Sometimes we travel into memories of the past with fond memory. This reminds me of a poem I did called: "Death of A Library of Wealth." Hugs BonBon |

You certainly shared who he was with those of us who were not aware of him. I think that is a great gift -- I believe when we share, the recipients always carry a small piece of the person. Thank you. aziza |

The thought is such a wonderful piece of kindness. Thank you for expressing it for others as well. Now I must see who this man was...I'm intrigued. |

There are so many wonderful talents in the world, that go unnoticed, until someone, like a Joyce Johnson who brings them into a higher world play. Thank God for the Joyces in our world. Thank goodness for the realm of Internet... and thank you, Poet, for being. |
