I Am
He who draws breath
and the breath that is drawn.
The keeper of flocks
and tiller of the ground.
He who prays
and the hearer of prayers.
The bodhi tree, the
Buddha beneath it
and the serpent that
sheltered the Buddha.
I Am Ganesh and
the mouse that scurries.
I Am Yin, Yang
Lao,  and Tao.
The Brazen Serpent
which heals and He
who is healed.
I Am the sender of manna,
the gatherer and eater
and the manna eaten.
The sanctified,  Sanctifier
and the Sanctuary.
The sacrifice
and He who
receives the sacrifice.
The lamb without blemish
and the scapegoat.
I Am the Golden pot
and the Brazen Laver.
The brass vessel,
the High Priest anointed
and the oil that anoints.
I Am the crucified
and the crucifier.
He who ascends
to Heaven
and he who sleeps
in Hell.
I Am the Bullseye
the archer and
that which falls short.
I Am you and everything
other than you.
I Am the prodigal,
the brother who remains,
and the Father who
welcomes home.
I Am the Home
that is returned to.
I Am the beginning
the end and everything
in between.
I will do all my pleasure
I Am That I Am
and there is
None else.

An eloquent and striking blend of traditions into a central theme. I love it!

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

Larry,

Remarkable!

The "I Am" poems have been circulating around Passions for awhile, but never have I seen one so encircling and snake like, coming in upon itself, making everything go full circle.  It is at times quite humbling to read your fine works...and wonder if ever one might read another like yourself.

Yes, Sir...very well done.
