Prickling pine along my neck Tingling spine at his call and beck Ruby red gushing through weakening veins The fading pink blush only sign that remains Dancing the same dance to a new song As though I should have been en pointe all along Body frame twirls and thoughts don’t exist Spinning and spinning, persuasion persists Moving to rhythms as tense as you please Fawning and falling on worn hands and knees Words I can’t speak searing my flesh Your name fills my lungs as often as breath Cerulean eyes carve my vague silhouette Implanting those notions I cannot forget The footwork you want I will never know One last pirouette and then I must go |
