5517 New Money for Old 10 July 2006
When eyes were green hair of gold, love this beauty a hope in her faith all told Just to see the smile encased with happiness inside
Every mystery, that misery hidden for her heart was warm, her soul enkindled Who was she, God did make her that way He held her hand, holden to tranquillity
A currency decimal to beginnings those dollars to pound, granted this day “The tenth of July this year” an echo of yesterday’s past
Parenthood, passion, the flower of a rose those daisies left to wilt in water of stench Her escape, her delight, her presentation a day to rejoice in accounts of seventy times seventy
New Zealand’s transition to decimal currency, from Pounds, Shillings and Pence, on a single day on 10 July 1967, to adopt the currency of New Zealand Dollars and Cents, was overseen by the Reserve Bank’s huge advertising and public relations campaign. Mr Dollar was the front man cartoon character, and armed with the advertising slogan, “the 10th of July this year” was the day to remember throughout New Zealand, to forget pounds, shillings and pence forever.
“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.” Matthew 18: 20-22 KJV
