even time can break stone left breathless for his touch finger to lips whisper in night amber and green down to the sketch of you of life inside naked flesh from winters view I will write of you with gentle palm spilling silence the edge of darkness watching against mine of your skin--ash and smoke to remember the reflection of these moments I write: reflecting orchids on black water &songs we heard long ago under stars turning blue fields into sky pass the space of my windows these moments: tangle the light --coming from morning alone I hear the tap of water touching the rains afternoon And so it those we live with and should know who elude us But we can still love them we can love completely without complete understanding |
