Tonight I'm going to burn a bridge With blaze that burns so bright I'll revel in destructive power As flames devour the night Naked in the firelight, Beneath moon's clouded gaze, My anger, rage, and pain I'll dance With toes in phosphorescent waves I'll offer tears to sister stars And stretch up to the sky To feel the darkness' warm embrace Hear moon's sweet lullabye And as the anger dissipates, leaving only sorrow's weeping, I'll curl amongst dewed clover and resign myself to sleeping Tomorrow I will burn this bridge, My rage and pain to sate, But for tonight - just one more night I think that I shall wait. |

Sheli, I have burned many of those bridges myself and some, I really put off for a long time Love this poem... it touched a deep piece of me I can certainly relate to well |

It's hard to burn those bridges sometimes. Even knowing that they -should- be burned doesn't make building the fire any easier I'm glad you enjoyed it, I love knowing that my writing touches even one person, it makes the sharing worthwhile Sheli The artist is nothing without the gift, |

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Amazing flow/rhythm to boot. I enjoyed this very much and I totally hear ya! Why burn the bridge right now?! |

I think you show wisdom in waiting too. Yep, I do. I love this poem. aziza |
