In the blink of light that flashes by, as my eyelashes gloss the tops of my skin. Its in this moment, that everything is hidden. Lost beneath a blanket of imagination. I throw my head back, and wave my arms out beside me. Looking up at the sky I begin to twirl. Around and around, my feet dancing upon the fresh cut summer grass. The blades tickling at my toes. In the blink of an eye, innocence is lost. In the gain, is a tomorrow. That yesterday had forgotten. An antique past, left in time. A new beginning is now unfolding, the road is unpaved, and unwritten. My eyes shut, saying goodbye to the young and immature, and greeting the future with wide open arms. |
