On A Journey To The Unknown

Bound and Determined

Still, once in a while
My heart starts to ache, when
Remembering those times
We had once shared
When our love was brand new
And I had no doubt that
You really cared

How could I have known
That there would come a time
It would all come to an end, and
I would go a different way
With no one even there
To wipe away those tears
I would sometimes shed

It has taken me a while
To get over the love lost
And the unbearable pain
I had felt inside my heart
The betrayal of trust
I once so freely gave
But, I finally did

It hasn't been easy for me
Still, I never gave up
I was bound and determined
Just to show you my dear
What I was really made of
That, I didn't need you
The way, you thought I did

Unlike you, my dear man
I had live on my own
For many, many years
And knew I could, once again
Although, my days are lonely
I wouldn't trade the loneliness
For what I went through, with you

I will continue on struggling
Through each and everyday
With all those hardships
That continually keep coming
Until I finally succeed
In having those things, which
Mean so much to me

You are a strong woman Sue..
You've come a long long way.
And I for one am very very proud of you!

But into my heart..

From such determination
comes a true sense of self.

Well done, Sue!

Though the pain is coming back at times, you are safe now within this present which you create step by step and which is unfolding beautifully.

Wise words, dear Sue!

Love and hugs.

I'm a firm believer that everything in this life happens for a reason and shapes our lives, makes us stronger, etc.  I can feel the pain, melancholy and the awesome strength in your penned words.

My father, when I have troubles, always says the same handful of words to me and, though they may not be the most supportive, they are true:

This too shall pass,
and you shall be stronger for it.

Thank you for sharing, writing is a kind of self-therapy, isn't it? Please keep writing, I look forward to seeing more from you.

I don't know you, but reading your words made me proud of you.  The pain is apparent, but your strength is carrying you forward.  Wow.  You carry a message that many of us can reflect upon.

In 1983, I made that very decision making process and started a new life.  Hang in there.  It does get better.  *hugs*....jo

~ Sue, you really are one smart chick! Keep those thoughts!

As I have told my daughters, I would rather be without a man than be with the wrong one!

God bless you, my sweet friend! The journey is not always easy, but the destination is worth all the hassles that you go through to get there!

Giving you a great big hug of love!
