In the Morning Silence

Have the mountains yet echoed:
“Extirpate Love from living”
Or the trees among the hills pronounce:
“Love no longer conquers all”?
Or the rhythmic beating of two hearts
pressed together with faith utter:
“Living is the end of us, long live death”?

Fear in living is not an option;
silence cannot be heard;
and darkness cannot be seen
without light to secede the difference.

What good are tears to a dry gulch?
What transparent quality exist
if even purest love despoils the living?
Where is that line to traverse?
And who, pray tell, can strike it with ease?

We are born of love
and to love we do surrender.
Not death, nor despondent living,
but love...

Yet this morning -
the silence is deafening…

Reminiscent of

why is the sun
still shining

why are the birds
still singing...

beautiful work, JL.

I had a working title
such as yours in mind...

on to adjustment...

The heart is always willing. But we must be willing to open the door. Wonderful words you put forth.

Thanks all you PIP’ers
I’m off to see the wizard.
I will miss all of you guys.
I’ll drop in now and then to read
If you all don’t mind.

God Bless!!

A most excellent write.
Be well..stay safe.
You will be missed.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.
