when rockets red glare
beating hearts burst in the air
freedom isn't free

BBQ symbols
the fires of cooking flesh
reality smokes

covering my ears
wiping rivers of hot tears
freedom's just a word

when the smoke subsides
someone must count all the hides
then they raise the flag

Thanks for reading JO and Dixie. I know it's not a pleasant read.
I hate the sounds of tonight. Whistling noises and kabooms. Only if you've never been caught in the REAL of them can you giggle with glee when surrounded by nonstop fireworks. And I shall never apologize for this attitude.
