People say I'm no count But they aint steppin' in my shoes And it aint nobodys business How I do or what I choose I'm steppin' on Gotta see tomorrow Right or wrong You gotta do what ya gotta do Aint got time to sing no blues If I'm playin' in some late night dive or pitchin' pennies to the crack or walkin' down some railroad track with a chicken on my back... I'm steppin' on Gotta see tomorrow Right or wrong You gotta do what ya gotta do Aint got time to sing no blues. If I'm sweatin' in some country field or hustlin' on some city street In an alley sellin' goods Settin' snares up in the woods Do what it takes to make ends meet I'm steppin' on Gotta see tomorrow Right or wrong You gotta do what ya gotta do Aint got time to sing no blues. If you should find me fishin' It aint because I lack ambition But I gotta fill the gap 'tween my belly and my back And it sho dont come from wishin' I'm steppin' on Gotta see tomorrow Right or wrong You gotta do what ya gotta do Aint got time to sing no blues. People say I'm no count But they aint steppin' in my shoes And it aint nobodys business How I do or what I choose I'm steppin' on. |
