TAPS Engaged for the service, this somber lone bugle sings. Singer of the lost… the many… or the few… He alone designated portraying their appearance with love and respect as he cries his song of blues… Unchanging… the words unspoken, the lonely tune the same. Not to miss a note, not at all to be refrained. He possesses the song of death, in that he sings well trained. To give to all who die their last word, for their memory sustained. § "Let every nation know, whether, it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival of liberty." ~ John F. A military funeral is the most chilling, awe inspiring, heart wrenching ceremony I have ever attended. If you can remain unmoved when Taps is played you are a harder person than I ever hope to meet. This is beautiful |

Fantastic poem. It takes the reader to a spot near a tree behind the other mourners. ... There is no normal life Wyatt, just life ... so live! |

That, and the missing man formation are two symbols of respect that can bring me to my knees. Thank you, JL. |

Yes Paul that's wonderful sentiment. I just wish our country had been more willing to embrace it when idiots were throwing bombs in churches in Alabama and young boys were getting their necks streched for whistling at the wrong woman. but I must say the poem was wonderful I can't imagine any greater fear Then waking up without you here. Though the sun would still shine on, My whole world would all be gone. |
