A World Of Darkness

People often tell me
Dreams do come true
We all have dreams
Of something new

Maybe to have someone
To share each day
Someone just to hold you
When all seems gray

Or just to have a friend
Who will listen to you
When your heart is hurting
Just to help you get through

Life is sometimes lonely
When you are by yourself
As you walk through the door
And, there is no one else

You wish you could just sleep
Not wanting to start a new day
With nothing to look forward to
When your world seems all gray

And, when it comes to friends
It seems they go away
When the going gets tough
They never seem to stay

I dont really like the "day" "Gray" rhymes scheme because u used it twice in about five to six stanzas, most of your stanzas rhyme scheme was too choppy, the thing I did like however was the emotion, your ability to write about how u feel makes u a good poet sometimes u may not be able to find the right words to express yourself but I hope u dont let that discourage u to write, maybe someone will give u the word u r looking for by simply responding to your poem...anyways good luck not onlyin writing but life

Hey Smart Chick. Understanding how you feel about some people. But as others here have said, we are here. Just too far to drop in. Consider this a drop in. Make a cup of tea, put an extra cup out for me and let's put our feet up and we will have a gab fest.Good luck. martyjo

It's a helpless feeling,
struggling along for yourself
and family
when you have friends
that could use an extra hand, too...

but you portrayed what it is
to continue..and to not give up.

Well done, Sue!

I know! And, I thank you so much. I am patiently waiting for things to get better. Well, sometimes, not so patient. But, I am ready for more "Good Times". I have had more than enough of the "Not-So-Good" ones.

I'm glad you enjoyed reading my heartfelt poem. Thank you!

I know! As I was writing this, I was thinking of someone, who claimed to be a friend. But, because things had turned bad, once again, she left. Thank you for all your support, Seymour. It is truly appreciated. And, thank you for your delightful poems.

Martyjo
I have your cup of tea, ready and waiting. Looking forward to your visit.

Dixie
I know. Thank you, my friend.

Sunshine
Thank you, so much for your kind comment. I guess, I am just too stubborn to give up. Although, there are those times, when I feel like it is just a waste of time to try. Even then, I can't seem to give up.

Thank you for taking time to read and leave a reply. I am sorry you have experienced this, too.

I bet you just felt that little kiss on your cheek??? Must be the one I blew over to you a minute ago Sue.

I know, no one understands loneliness unless they've experienced it.

You should have a little cat around the house who only talks love to you and you can tell her/him all your secrets, knowing she/he won't gossip them around.

But for now, warm hugs to you my friend

And I love your new photo

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Thank you, Marge! If it wasn't for you, and other people like you here at Pip, I wouldn't haven't gotten as far as I have.

Paul
Thank you, Paul, for your friendship. To have another friend is always a treasure.

Titia
I thought I felt something on my cheek. Some days being alone doesn't bother me. Other days, it is just so hard. I had a cat, who really listened to me. LOL! But, the bad thing is, he got so sick with an incurable disease, and was so bad off, that he had to be put to sleep. It just broke my heart. But, I still have 2 of my dogs. How is my little SmartChick doing?

Yes, it's hard to be alone, then again there are worse situations.  A 45 year old gal I know has a speach impediment and forges on alone.  She has an ugly part time job, although she's capable of much better.  I'm sure it's all due to the speach thing.  She cared for her mom until she died. Little does she know what an inspiration she is!  From what I read, you certainly are, too.  Anyone who manages moving by themshelves, deserves a medal!

Don't bring me down now,
let me stay here for awhile

let me bathe here in your smile.

Sue, I know the feelings all too well and like you, the friends on here have made life a bit easier just knowing they know and understand...

and whether you use any rhyming scheme more than once or whatever..that is your choice...sometimes the repetition  makes the effect you want.

and sorry I wasn't here but was away  for 4 days...
