To a body that’s tired there’s such a surprise To find warmth and darkness, and then close the eyes To feel warmth of blanket just seep to the core The moment of goodnight I simply adore To scatter the thoughts in the head and delete To say ones goodbye to a day that’s complete Leaving the conscience to drift off to sleep That is the promise that each night does keep Until I awaken again to the day As all of my dream thoughts start fading away Still knowing at days end my bed does await To offer its refuge again when it’s late |
