oh, my sisters do not despair the winner's circle just yet for there is hope remember where the lines are and where they have been 'tis the first time you've stood in them...the voting lines all the other lines have been circumscribed circles of constraint today you've made a first step outside those boundaries and the irony is some day that victory circle shall be yours and you will step within a new circle of your own making ~honoring Kuwaiti women~ http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0630/p06s02-wome.html [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (06-29-2006 10:38 PM).] |

I think that I understand the overall message about stepping through adversity and stuff but I dont think this is powerful enough for the message being implied. I think the courage that u attempted to bestow with this poem just doesnt hit as hard as I think u could have made with more time. Anyways I think u are a wonderful writer and I enjoy to "critque" your poems just as much as I like writing poetry myself, u r an inspiration to me already thank u...kepp writing elevation is the key. Return the favor on Valentines "How vain it is to sit down and write when u have not stood up to live" |

Well, I enjoyed this, Kacy. I think it is a fine tribute to the Kuwaiti women. Thank you for being everyone's strength. - Owl |

Thank you dear Kacy for this sensitive tribute. Your solidarity with these women who have fought to exercise their right to vote. I read an interview with Ayesha Al-Reshaid and I think she is really a powerful woman. Important write. Love, Margherita |
