if I am starving, let me eat the dead. if I have cancer, let it spread like a rumour entering the city on a centipede of tongues. and as I age, let me smell the decay of love. all is lost, for the only animal that sins has left its footprints on the moon. i am coming to truly love your work. you have a way of saying things about human beings that is uniquely spot on, even if uncomfortably so for the reader. "all is lost, for the only animal that sins has left its footprints on the moon." yes, exactly. just like that. |

We always leave tracks, don't we, "with a "centipede of tongues." I am so intrigued with your poetic language, uses of phrases and metaphor which would not have occured to me. ~ klassy |

I echo the above replies and am actually so taken back by the imagery and intense power of this poem, I don't know what else to say.....you continue to impress me. Melissa~ Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world! |
