Tethered to a Star When I was young, I sometimes felt that I was tethered to a star, that did not seem to wander far. I visioned one day I'd be free, and wonderd of my destiny with my luck, stuck in some tree. Still tethered! jo perry March 14 2006 |

MartyJo~ I adore the thought of being 'tethered to a star' ....~ Now ... let's see what we can do about that tree~ Soar in blessed starlight, my friend~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

I think u r heading toward a higher meaning but I could nt grasp it I think with another stanza u would have completed this, I dont think it is finished...good luck keep writing...elevation is the key "How vain it is to sit down and write when u have not stood up to live" Anonymous (Unknown) |

Well MartyJo, perhaps the reason it may not be considered finished is that we believe your star traveled a lot farther then that. Cute write. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, |

Well, thank you all kindly for not snickering at this silly ditty. I was thinking back as usual and remembering when I had just four of the six kiddies, how I was always wondering for the secret of "Up Anchor". I thought I was grounded for ever. But yes, I was active in the community and I was able to focus on other concerns. And I did foster some changes that were important to the community. So It was not all in vain.... I could have done more...famous last words... best to all and thankee..martyjo. |

grinning here, martyjo... "tethered to a star stuck in a tree" Now that's a great image! I could paint that one I think, as I was an avid tree climber as a child. |

MartyJo -- your spirit soars sometimes...I can feel it, so maybe you should say, "sometimes"....(just a light comment...lol). Seriously, very nice poem! ...jo |
