EVER-LOVED
9 June 2006

It was that leaf
brownrich and proud
on the autumn branch,
upturned both, to honour
your hallowed, moonwashed grave.

When one can look up
when their heart is down
and find beauty...

then the recipient
of their love
lives on.

Well done, Diana!

An exceptionally poignant post...

Moving beyond words. I could almost feel what you must be feeling.

Diana

You have accomplished one of my favorite things...to meld the earth and sky into words that so clearly define love.

Thank you all so much for your exquisite replies to my poem, about my beloved horse, Flicka.

Thank you dixie, kimberley and Kristabell.  Yes, it is very sad.  He was my life, but he lived 37½ wonderful, happy, healthy and much loved years (although I only knew him for 22 years, and was only his for the last 20½ of his years) and he is Heaven waiting for me.

Sunshine, your reply is so very, very beautiful.  And telling me that my darling Flicka lives on (which, of course, I know, but it is lovely to hear it from somebody else!), makes your reply all the more special.  Thank you for all the help with the photo.  I really appreciate your patience and kindness.

Thank you Margherita.  I am new to the photography thing, so I feel very honoured, but even more about the poetry.

Thank you Nancy.  I am very happy you enjoyed it so much.

Thank you so much Linda.  That word "almost" is unbelievably understanding.  I know you will understand what I mean.

Martie, you wordsmith, your words are a poem in itself.  And I know you know that Flicka was my earth and sky all in one.

Thank you all.  Flicka was/is the epitome of love.  He adored/adores all people and all creatures of all kinds without a single exception and they all adored him without a single exception.

Owl,

You did it!

...and it's such a beautiful picture and poem.

Flicka's Owl and Flicka's tree
Protect and watch for Eternity...

I loved your reply and I do believe what you have said is very true; Flicka does wait for you in Heaven.

The Bible makes it very clear that when Jesus returns to earth that He will be riding on a White Horse and I have to believe in my heart of hearts that Flicka will be there too...

I'm so glad that I got to read your poem and to see the photo that you had described to me. Thank you for sharing.

God bless.

Oh Diana. It's simply exquisite and so perfect for your earth and sky Flicka. The picture is just right.

Well done my friend.

Thank you Kate for your earth and sky tribute to my darling Flicka whom you know so well.  I only wish you had known him while he was alive.  You would have adored each other.  Love and hugs to you love and head butts and friendly meewos to George and Winnie.

Thank you James.  I am glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you Patricia for your appreciation.
