Thankfully so I know of the sea
and the incredible force of desire
that stalks and haunts the invincible shore
through time’s indestructible chimes
because always the ever not knowing
could erode the perfection of love
and leave but dust in the place of trust.

And thankfully so the intractable shore
no bar to a wave of maturity
building and growing at God’s given speed
on the far other side of a dream
and I wait with a sense of knowing
that once I was heard to pray
for the feet of the weak to feel relief
from the heat of love’s hide and seek.

Meanwhile a time undoubtedly shy
in the unfathomable depths of the sea
waits and watches, assesses the signs,
and perceives my inner being
until the child is of equal height
to the woman I still have to be.

There!  That’s it – but, no, it’s a trick;
that wave still covers my head
and who can be kind to a time
that keeps a woman a child?

Aww, but you are a woman! A woman borne of the sea whose inner child is alive and well!

Sending you a hug-o-love,
Linda

Linda - yes, for sure but the child part really isn't a good thing - or is it? Hard to decide sometimes.  Thanks for the read, dear friend.

Thanks Bagger Vance for reading and for commenting.  Very much appreciated.  And I had a quick look at Poetry Castle - very nice!

Provocative. Nice work.

So much here of truth, Helen, and put together with maturity and insight!  I think a good combination of woman and inner child is a winner...but, then again, timing, or at least the illusion of it, is important, too.  So you're off to the sea again....wow, I envy that.  Have a good trip.   ...jo

As always, you write with much thought behind your poetic words.

Thanks to all for the read.  Sometimes one just has to "run away" and what better place than down to the sea - again and again!

Thank you RedStone (Lee) and LeeJ for the read.  Glad you enjoyed.  At the moment there's no reason for me not to write but I'm still hoping to one day speak instead.

Being as young as you can perceive to be.
As is the sea.
