I’ve been told we are all our own universe, and I’ve Questioned “Then where is God?” “All around each universe” he said. With this, I could not totally agree. Not around, but rather, within each one of us. He is in our bellies, in our conscious We have the power to listen with Him, As He is in our body, soul, and heart. We can determine which path to turn. *Clarification: I, too, believe He is all around, in nature and in others. However, I feel God is a part of one's being, one's interior, and that one must listen and sense what is right and wrong at the personal level before changes can be made. I hope not to have offended anyone with my ponderings. [This message has been edited by miscellanea (02-05-2006 11:41 AM).] |

I too, believe that each of us is a spark of the Divine Flame. You shared your belief so poetically, Dear Cathy! Hugs with love, Linda |

I for one am not offended by your ponderings! To debate the existence or the whereabouts of God is perhaps wasted effort because we will never know the absolute truth while on this earthly plane. I do, however, believe that we are required to think for ourselves and not be spoon fed by mass opinion in order to arrive at an acceptable truth. This truth will always be our own truth and if we can live our truth - well, there must be "brownie points" for us somewhere along the line. We all have an inner voice - God's or ours? I don't know but listening is the tricky part in this noisy world that we've created and then those who seek and enjoy the supposed silence are considered abnormal. Sorry for the ramble but, yes, to see God everywhere is to know he is here with us and in us amidst this jungle of free-will that perhaps pains him and much as it does us. Your poem will start a train of thought and that can only be a good thing. Regards Helen |

Your poem is very special and so are your thoughts. You have a right to them and to share them. No one should take offence for your belief system as it belongs to you and the special part of it is that I thought it was beautifully expressed. Kim |

Misc - You know my thoughts on this. Think we're on the same page. Thanks for sharing. One of my favorite movies is "Stigmata." The opening words from movie read: "The Kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, not in mansions of wood and stone. Split a piece of wood and I am there -- lift a stone and you will find me. These are the hidden sayings that the living Jesus spoke. Whoever discovers the meaning of these sayings shall not taste death." The quotation from the movie is a conglomeration of lines from the gnostic Gospel of Thomas, which is only one of more than 20 known "alternative" gospels. The traditional well-known gospels found in the mainstream Christianity (King James, NIV and the Revised Standard) gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are not the only documents purporting to tell the story of and record the words of the Christ. There are the gospels named after James, Secret Mark, the Hebrews, the Ebionites, Bartholomew, and Nicodemus, as well as a number of so-called "infancy" gospels. Many of these texts are attributed to the Gnostic movement within the early Christian community. Just some food for thought. ....jo |
