Had I the gift of words you do I think I'd write a book. I'd want the world to see a star And make the critics look. But maybe it is I, The greedy one at heart, Who longs to share your deepest thoughts And know you not in part. I long to see your precious face To hear your words so fine And here, at least, I find you, dear, In words of song and rhyme. The ebb and flow so familiar to me Of those days now long gone by. I've missed you, dad, and forgive me, please, If I steal away and cry. I know you have your busy life And I, in turn, have mine. But here is where I'll run to you, And cherish your every line. |

Thanks for the warm welcome! My dad used to write me beautiful things growing up, and all the way up until I left his home, honestly. Mom told me I could find his writings here... wonder if he'll figure out it's me. |

He'll know...depend on it...and some other dads (like this one) will wish. I've a son who has much more writing talent than I've ever dreamed of having, but I'm certain I'll never see him here....I treasure the occasional poem or vignette I've found, but he's too shy ever to show them to me, or to anyone else. Got me all wistful, you did -- I'm glad you wandered in! ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

I am having fun (no, fun is too light a word) - I am enjoying guessing who he is. I am sure, too, like Ratleader, that he will know it is he. However, I think he will be reticient about being too hopeful that he is the one, so PLEASE email him, if he doesn't make the first contact, and PLEASE re-kindle your relationship with him, for the sakes of more than just you and him. - Owl |

Oh, if I gave the impression that our relationship is strained it was a false one indeed! We are still close, email, phone each other, etc. What I miss is that sweet poetry and prose of earlier years that he wrote me... guess he figured since there's another man in my life, I don't need it Still haven't seen him pop in on my entries... we'll see... oh, and if he comments on one of my entries, I'll be the first to divulge the oh-so-intriguing secret! |
