The risk of love Here, I am in the gardens of life The forest putting away all my years of strife In the forest, is where I stand Saying to myself, ‘Oh, how life is so grand” Here, I am, with you by my side We have little money, but we still have our pride In a field of grass is where I stand Saying to myself, ‘Oh, how life is so grand” Five years later, I walk through the valley of dark Only to learn it’s a circle and I am lead back to where I first embarked In the valley of darkness is where I stand Saying to myself, ‘Oh, how life is so grand’ In the valley, I was alone, answers I sought were in front of me all along I knew the answer I had sought, It was with her that I belong In the valley of light, is where I stand Saying to myself, ‘Oh, how life is so grand” In a house, a broken down one for sure My partner, my wife, stood by me, she finally felt secure In a broken down house, is where I stand Saying to myself, ‘Oh, how life is so grand’ Five years later, In a house of golden beams Stood myself, my wife, finally conquering our dreams In a house of gold, is where I stand Saying to myself, ‘Oh, how life is so grand’ A risk was taken, one that could have made me poor Yet, I went on with my wife, knowing I could love no one evermore By my wife, such a pretty woman, is where I stand Saying to myself, ‘Oh, how life is so grand” |
