Thanksgiving All was quiet last thanksgiving. The pleasing tepid scent of turkey filled the house. And family from all around gathered at our home. Love was present to say the least. Yeah right, this is my house. My uncle George came from Kentucky Just to steal the nasty giblets and then drive home. My aunt Lucinda (Yes her real name) Tried to paint the couch Because floral patterns gets her Agent Orange acting up And Uncle Oscar Who we christened Oscar the Grouch, Tried to fork the cat with a platinum spork. Oh and don’t forget the kids. Those little ankle-biting evil demons! All running around with a whole variety of fingers. Sticky fingers. Cheeto fingers. Cabbage fingers And even egg salad fingers. And those aren’t event the weird kids. The gravy-fearing children ran around the house Screaming “The gravy will burn us!” And my mother shouting “Who duct taped Grandpa to the furnace?!” Oh yes, I love the holidays. And me. I have a holiday tradition of hitting my head (A tradition three years running) Thank God I’m not dead. Yes, my head was hit. And I passed out from the blood. So my mom threw a fit, “Ed passed out again!” And it was screamed to no end. I was fine, like I always am. But my family left like the way they came. Like carnies from a closed down circus, But I love my family, Yes I do love them so. Weirder than anything I will ever know. |

I spent my Thanksgiving fighting pneumonia... and mourning my dad. *S* So I smiled at all your chaos... and uttered an "amen" to your ending. *S* Enjoyed!! |
