I want to hitch a ride hike the sky straddle the backs of stallions masked in cirrus where the eagles cry Set my feet, Sweet City in the Andes place me on dank cobblestone Paris of the 30's Perch with me in a cafe' we can sip latte' shake the cold from our bones write poetry pine about the lonely girl across from us waiting for a lover who does not yet exist Take me to Tuscany we can feed each other grapes as they burst viscid and sweet the vineyards ~ shall stain our skin with ink from sweet kiss of lips Walk me barefoot in the sands of the mighty Atlantic I have seen her sister Their blessed waves shall cleanse my sins recycling Earth My blood screams for the salt sting of life ~~~ [This message has been edited by littlewing (02-01-2006 12:05 PM).] |

As always, excellent, beautiful and soul-shaking! I am a little confused, though, as to how Johannesburg comes into it . . . - Owl |

A world tour, from a soul who seems to have lived many past lives. Your writing is always filled with the motion of emotion. Enjoyed this immensely, Sue. Billy 8) "Only the dead, have seen the end of war." |

Take me to Tuscany we can feed each other grapes as they burst viscid and sweet the vineyards ~ shall stain our skin with ink from sweet kiss of lips ~*~ I'm ready, packed... and have the will... Excellent sounds here. " It matters not this distance now " Excerpt, Yesterday's Love |

Your title caught my eye because I live in the Johannesburg area of South Africa. Not a great tourist attraction but your poem is great. This - "My blood screams for the salt sting of life" Wonderful! |

Thank you everyone for your beautiful replies, I want to thank each of you for liking this and taking from it what you need. The feeling was of just leaving our Earthly restrains, much like a bird and being free. The vineyards are something I one day wish to really see, in Tuscany, and visiting Paris, although it isn't quite the same Paris Hemingway, Pound and Stein knew. The Johannesburg refers to not only Africa, which is another place I refer to as wanting to be, but also back to the vineyards. It is Johannesburg Reisling . . . You guys spoil me. Wish I had gotten here sooner, alas, life does call *sigh* Thanks guys . . . |

Ok, Sue, now I understand but I think it's Johannesburger Riesling if I'm not mistaken but my wine drinking days are pretty much over. Got light headed on one glass today and I do so enjoy the taste. Such is life! Cheers! Helen |

ahh Helen, I bet that is to your region, that type of Reisling, the grape is from Germany itself, I prefer the French made version, but I have to do more research but I do believe South Africa was founded by Germans which would explain the name and the wine since this particular grape comes from Germany, but dont quote me on that. Hey James, where you been? Thank you for that - it does sound nice, doesnt it? Thanks guys. |

Joni Mitchell comes to mind....it's late that's all I can come up with other than it's always good to read your words when I'm in a funk If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried. |

littlewing...Much enjoyed this trip thru time with you. I often find myself saying I wish I had done certain things while I was younger and able to enjoy them, but now it's almost too late and besides my old bones couldn't handle it...Paul |
