The night that your Mum phoned me
through tears she did confide.
How was she to help you
your inocence and your pride.

She asked me what to tell you
how to take away your pain,
How to explain what was done
was to be some one elses shame.

To remind you in the darkness
that there will always be a light.
To be the ones to hold you
and tell you it'll be all right.

I can not make promises
that your life will be a breeze
That as you grow older
you will not feel hurtful tears.

But as you work your way through them
comfort you will find
in remembering not in yesterdays
because tomorrow is what you will find.
