A twinkle, a dazzle, a spark shines in your eyes A rumor, a story, a person spreading lies Is this what makes you so irresistibly charming? Don’t the people realize it is them you are harming? Tell me a lie A glimmer, a flash, a streak goes rushing by The fire, the smoke, the tracks of tears being cried Is there anyone who can break your heart? Is there something that can tear your world apart? Tell me a lie A tear, a fear, a rage runs through your veins A heart, a knife, a love spilled leaves its stains Didn’t you think it could happen to you? Now you know, love isn’t something you fight It’s something you do Tell me a lie Just once more… 8/4/1990 Lyn Eagleton |

Profound is the word that comes to mind when I read your poem. I liked it. |
