Oh help me I been drinkin’ and I’m feeling so low you know, nothing I really want to feel keeps me losing my direction baby can’t get the tourist cars to go my train of thought’s derailed somewhere down below my driving wheel. We’re at war say it out loud. What are they dying for? If you know you know the horror, if you don’t you’ve missed the point. Media scum defines a world existing only in the moment’s photo-op where we should only play by their parlor rules; they have chosen to create unreal expectations, ideas that would make Dickens proud, with clear selective focus on what should be allowed in their transitory sound bite world without any honest historical perspective; they love to keep the world divided as long as there will be enough in any camp to buy the soap that gives them salt, they won’t accept any blame any fault for all their efforts in promoting intentional deception, for their Snively Whiplash views that put us all at risk. The media heads are magpies picking over road kill while “tsk-tsking” the skills of those who have the nerve to drive. So drink with me while I’m alive, help me throw popcorn at the screen but never ask me what I’ve seen, or done, or lost, or won, you wouldn’t really want to know. ©2006 by icebox |

but never ask me what I’ve seen, or done, or lost, or won, you wouldn’t really want to know. I know not to ask...even though I would like to know, I know what he has seen is more than I can absorb...and the flashbacks have occurred more and more always enjoy your words and take with me many interpretations and the Media..well it has become entertainment to many (not me) M |

"The media heads are magpies picking over road kill while “tsk-tsking” the skills of those who have the nerve to drive. So drink with me while I’m alive, help me throw popcorn at the screen" You know I will, Mr. C.! They are magpies picking over road kill tsk-tsking...and how profound a statement of truth this is! Seems they've got plenty of it at the moment, too, and much more to come from the land of salt. ......jo |

I have read this and I am grinning. I did a little stint in marketing m'self, and I am trying to picture me, or some other poor schmuck trying to get you to participate in the surveys/taste tests/experiements that were a part of our service to provide data to advertising companies. whew. I am just glad it wasn't me. Have a zanax, Charly. And yanno? Since I am safely behind the screen, I'll tell you: I have been considering advertising as a career opportunity. Somebody's gotta do it and it really is being done badly... Forgive me? I've had a nervous breakdown in the middle of my mid-life crisis! (serenity ducks and run--->) |

This is the most profound poem I've read all week. It is full of emotion and took courage to write. I give you a standing ovation. |

icebox "So drink with me while I’m alive, help me throw popcorn at the screen but never ask me what I’ve seen, or done, or lost, or won, you wouldn’t really want to know." But I do want to know. |
