Center of the Mushroom Pots rumble together In the rusty sink Awaiting a good cleaning Shriveled hands massage The grease off the pots With a dime amount of soap Clean enough. The knife drops to the floor, Becoming dirty once again Drops Until it hits Surface tension Roofs no more Extracting life From the earth Running up the sky Then disperses At the top The pots… They are dirty again. Momma says, "Life... is like a box full of chocolates, you never know when you're gonna get one with a nut in it". |
