Sometimes In The Quiet

I don't miss you much anymore,
just sometimes in the quiet,
the memory of us is far too old,
the bond frayed, I cannot tie it

so I guess I'll be moving on
much sooner than I had thought,
you were a mountain I peaked long ago
and on the downside, a lesson taught:

once a mountain is conquered,
you must then leave it behind you
and move on to the next one,
it won't come there to find you...

it may be hard to see where you are
and on the downside, you may deny it,
just listen, there are things you'll hear
sometimes in the quiet.

were just too busy to 'hear that quiet'
that you invite in.....if only we could, would make things so much clearer

Enjoyed this read and I always enjoy
the quiet. When quiet speaks louder than
words and we truely hear and understand than we are truely wise!
Thanks for sharing,

This is fantastic, Dixie. And, so true. When we sit in the quite, our minds tend to wonder back to the memories of the past. Mine does!

yep, sometimes the sound of your own small voice comes through and you realize that there's something to be said from yourself that you've been avoiding and then the truth about your inner feelings sets you at ease through good and the bad.
