Your corrections are gifts to me! Fragile, Speak With Care The saying, "Sticks and stones may break my bones But words hurt not," ring simply far from true And way misplaced! For spoken words askew Break something of more worth then fragile bones! Fanged biting, cutting words feel like sharp stones Afire which penetrate the heart clear through And wounds the soul. A careless word or two Cuts mournfully deep as well as harsh tones! No one owns the rights to recall a word That hurts; when spoken quickly it grows wings And zings its way like a bred homing bird. And yet midst the wounds, there's something that brings A healing in part. It's far from asburd And framed in love: forgiveness with no strings! |
