I Am Grieving You

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

"Why are you in bed so early?"
you called me to ask.
I said, "I am grieving you.
It's one hell of a task.

I have drank beyond walking.
I've cried beyond weeping,
and I don't feel like talking,
I just want to be sleeping.

I'm sad for thinking so much
about the things of you I miss,
tossing, turning, in my stomach,
I can't even write of this.

Stop! Let it go now.
Please go away and let me grieve-
Let me drink and cry alone!
Damn! Why can't you leave?"

You said, "I am grieving you".

A story?

A poem?

Art?

I say, all in one...what's the difference?

Great job!

Grief sometimes can last a lifetime which begs the question - do we grow from it?  I think you have and one day I may as well.  Great poem, Dixie!

I can relate to the above , I keep asking myself how long can I go on like this

Dear Passing Shadows,

I noted this was written sometime ago.  How would you write it today?   BJ

I don't remember reading this before...
My God Dixie...the emotional punch this has knocked me over....and really really touched my heart.

I dont know who the person is
And he has become

I dont know the situation
as situations become

I dont know the words
Haven't done for time

Sometimes on death row
It can seem a long, long, time

When this nothing, something always calls
Tossing in the gut and in the nether halls

Dont know why we do it
And what we think we have

Only lawyers and telecoms
Make from the good to bad

I have, and will confess

That you got me writing

I suppose it was that 'Sunny Exposure'

thanks to each of you...wow

I'm glad you liked this oldie.
I'll admit it is quite an experience to go back and read my old ones stored on my hard drive. I'm glad to be able to share here.
