A day in Stanley's Garden. Oh, what a joy that would have been to spend the day with you, gliding about fabulous flowers that grace meandering pathways, resplendent in a unity of color and harmony, pulsating with contrasting textures and scents, revealing stepping stones of rhyme, poetic thyme the essence of teeming life moving about beneath us. Sadly, it was not meant to be, that we should chance to wander between the flora and fauna, accompanied by the heartbeat of a master. But in the moment of sharing his caring words, his undying respect and love for all Life, (even if to many, some life forms seem absurd) it was poetry divine, a passionate heartbeat, that I heard in every single thought and word. Thank you for sharing the heartsong of this magnificent human, Stanley Kunitz. ~thank you, wandering glider~ /pip/Forum3/HTML/004020.html |

Kacy "Sadly, it was not meant to be, that we should chance to wander between the flora and fauna" I have a feeling that you were there part way within his words. |

Stanley's name first came to me about three years ago, and then several times in the past three years - enough so that I looked him up... and admired his inherent use of common words. He did not reach for eloquence, yet let simple words stand out...the true art of poetry. He knew just how to touch soul, easily, lightly, a thought in motion down one's spine. A garden of words, yes, Kacy...you found him to be just that, indeed. A quiet man, deep, thoughtful, giving...not really recognized until his wisdom's well was sprung fully...and a very good man to admire, in all senses...not for outward beauty, but for the inner sense of salvation's beauty of thought, being, self. Thank you very much for this day in Stanley's garden....and a thanks to Wandering Glider...as well. Our contemporary poets...we should start a list of our favorites, to grow within our mental gardens. |
