Gems and Jewels, Diamonds and Pearls...
Tokens of wealth of our earth, craved for,
fought for, searched for, slain for...and more.

Entrust to the warrior these baubles of
death’s grasp, shimmering brightly,
sparkling....smooth riches that have
been sought for centuries.

For it is not gems nor jewels, diamonds
or pearls I hunger for.

The warmth
of a soft gloved hand, the shimmer of
an eye that casts a ray of joy,
the whispered heartfelt love of another,
the sound of a babe’s breath in slumber.
The smoothness of silken skin, freshly
cleansed beneath the glint of a waterfall.
The feel of newly fallen snow upon a
rosy cheek. The joyful shreik of a child
at play.  A dream's breathless feel as
one soars into clouds filled with God's
energy.

These gifts are more priceless than
any stone, any precious metal...any
kingdom or crown, for they are life, life
as it should be...for all time, till life
ceases and becomes again a small but
priceless part of our earth..

Oh, yes, Magnus, you speak of the worthwhile things in life and this -

"A dream's breathless feel as
one soars into clouds filled with God's
energy."

Perhaps really and truly only comes once in a lifetime but then again once is enough.

Enjoyed your penning very much!

So very true.  If only everyone saw it this way, what a wonderful world we would have!

YES!  Beautiful!
Yet another wonderful, inspiring poem you've penned - you truly do have talent.  I'm beginning to love seeing the world through your eyes.

But Barry, who gave you permission to keep on impressing me   First, "I Might Never" and now this - excuse me while I fill my libary up with another poem of yours hehe

Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world!

Barry, I join the ranks of all the women who swoon while reading your poems of love.
They stir the senses ~ and the soul.
