While walking absently out my screen door,
on Mother’s day morning,
I was frozen in perfect silence,
sent into heavenly reverie,
newborn light
bid my soul
welcome.

I lost command of my limbs
No longer paying heed
to what my mind commanded
they now listened to only my soul
Granting its every wish and whim

My cigarette fell
still smoking
to the earthen ground
Fell from trembling lips
and quaking fingers
detained in the authority of my soul

my eyes enlarged
my emerald irises
eclipsed by the dark star of my pupil
Wistful eyes
soft eyes,
ever moistened by soft tears
freefalling down my groveling face

and my knees buckled
without my telling them so
to greet the damp Earth
My nose purely
delighted by the wonderful aroma
of the newly born dew
As euphoric as any opiate

clasping Mother Nature
in a simple embrace
that
I would give to any loved one
any mother
on this empowering morning.

My wistful eyes wept
much needed tears
in the depths of
Mother’s embrace.

you paint such a vivid picture! Very enjoyable read.

Nicely done,  the feelings flow freely
within the poem....and I can feel your
feelings through your words.

Wonderful!!! Into my library it goes!

The soul would have no rainbows, had the eyes no tears.
