  When you tell me to wait
  I feel like chop suey
  as if I am not good enough
  to stand here
  and be in your presence.

  I think I will leave
  because you don't respect me
  it has always been known that
  I will be the failure
  and that is the honest truth.

  Before I go
  I want you to hear that
  when we were equal
  nothing was better
  to talk and laugh together.

  Bye bye for now
  I can find myself somewhere
  after I fill this void inside
  I just sorely wish
  you would think the same way.

What really counts is that we respect ourselves.
And the void is there exactly for what you say ... it's the field of possibilities and it is meant to be filled. Watch and believe.
